GOING DEEPER

We are praying for the nations to be fruitful and that they will see God’s Spirit move like never before, but God looks at the roots. The roots will determine the fruits. #Pray4TheWorld is going beneath the surface where God develops the roots. When the nations are truly rooted in Christ, it will experience God’s power.

Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Colossians 2:7 (NLT)

Pray The Word

When we meditate on God’s Word and become still before Him in our prayer closets, the Holy Spirit will make the Word of God alive to us and open up the Scriptures. Here are a few scriptures that will feed our roots...

Week 1: The Seed

The seed seems insignificant, but it has value to the Farmer. It means nothing to those who purchase the fruit that the seed produces. It is easily overlooked because it is such a small thing, but the Bible tells us not to despise the day of small beginnings. (Zechariah 4:10; Matthew 13:31-32)

Week 2: In The Soil

A seed needs to grow; the seed and the Farmer know this. No one else is concerned about the growth process—they are only interested in seeing the tree and the fruit. We are God’s seeds, and the soil is our environment. The Bible teaches us that we can bear up to 100 fold when planted in good soil. (Matthew 13:8)

Week 3: Getting The Roots Right

In the Garden of Eden, there were many trees, and God said, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree

in the garden, except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.” (Genesis 2:15-17) God does not want us to feed on junk—people’s ideologies or the world’s mentality. He wants us to feed on Him.

Week 4: Grounded in Christ

Adam and Eve ate fruit from the tree with the wrong roots, which caused death. The fruit was rooted and grounded in bitterness, hatred, and pride—the fruit was poison. (Genesis 2:15-17) We cannot be a beautiful and fruitful tree if our roots are wrong.
