Week 4: Grounded In Christ

1. GROUNDED IN CHRIST

Adam and Eve ate fruit from the tree with the wrong roots, which caused death. The fruit was rooted and grounded in bitterness, hatred, and pride—the fruit was poison. (Genesis 2:15-17) We cannot be a beautiful and fruitful tree if our roots are wrong.

​

We have to be rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus, our Savior, and in His love and His mindset. Only then will our tree, which is also our life, bear good fruit, and we will be trees that bring healing to the nations, and our fruit will feed the nations. When we meditate and feed on Jesus, the Tree of Life, we will be like a tree planted by the rivers of living water, bearing fruit in its season. (Psalm 1:3)

In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Revelation 22:2 (NKJV)

2. BEARING GOOD FRUIT

​

• The storms and the wind will come, but when your roots are firm in Christ Jesus, nothing can stop you from bearing fruit. Are you rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus and His love? In Him, you will overcome the world and always bring forth fruit.

​

• Are you abiding in Christ and remaining connected to Him in your thoughts, words, and emotions? We have to check ourselves and choose to meditate on that which is good and from above. (Philippians 4:8)

​

PRAY: Holy Spirit, empower me from within to keep my mind fixed on God and to meditate on His Word so I may bear His good fruit. Amen

3. GOING DEEPER

​

Not all Christians will be like the tree in Psalm 1 or the eagle in Isaiah 40. It will only be those believers who feed and meditate on God’s Word and wait on Him. When we are in the waiting—in the dark soil—we start strengthening our inner man. Later, as we remain in His presence and start growing upward, we are seeds that sprout and bear fruit. Let’s continue to abide in Him so that He can continuously strengthen us and increase the quality and quantity of fruit we yield in our lives and the nations.

Remain in Me, and I [will remain] in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] unless you remain in Me. John 15:4 (AMP)

​

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

4. #PRAY4THEWORLD

​

Set time aside and pray for the nations to be rooted in Christ.
